Description

I stepped outside the back door yesterday and had to turn around fast to run and get my camera. I couldn't believe my eyes, I even shouted to Pauline to come and verify what I was seeing. This tiny patch of Blue sky was right above our house, even the starlings were flying up towards it. It was that bright I had to put my sun glasses on. Then as fast as it came it went again, the dull grey sky returned. This is the most excitement I have had for a couple of weeks, be kind to me. Lol. I'm getting desperate now, I am setting up a new group called 'Sky Chasers'. It's like storm chasing but we look for blue sky. Thanks for stopping by for a look, and for any comments you care to make; if anybody knows the name of a good shrink, I think I might be in need of one. Just leave their name and number after the bleep. I wish you enough.

My Grandma used to say " enough to patch a pair of sailor's trousers!" I wonder what useful sayings our granchildren will pass on to posterity. I shuddder to think.

You're cracking me up! I know that feeling but its sort of the reverse...here in our valley we have what I refer to as "summer sky." It lasts 3-4 months (in a normal year - this year we have fires to contend with so the color has changed to grey...). The sky is flawless, deep blue, no character and no interest...just blue...all day, every day, week after week. It gets to be depressing... I have followed a single cloud, the size of a small lamb, with my eyes for as long as it holds together...mesmerized, hypnotized, captured by the single dot of interest. :-) Great shot you've done here. The birds are great. They seem to be looking for a way out. :-)

chuckle< I know what you mean about endless rain, obviously we don't get that sort of thing here in darkest Africa but I can recall what it was like in Middleton. I remember the old joke about 'you can tell it's summer because the rain's warm!!!':-) Great shot, love the birds diving towards the blue bit!!!

So that's where all the rain went.... We're in a drought again this summer and normally green green Tennessee is turning brown brown with leaves turning yellow and falling off trees already. I can accept the summer brown in Oklahoma where I grew up, but here... it is just wrong. Great shot and nice capture of the birds, they do seem excited~ =)

Great shot. We have blue again today, and I miss the gray and rain of two days ago. I guess we just have to agree to disagree!

awww wishing you many more blue skies to come.. by the way thanks for your comment on my mill photo, and you can see the wheel from the road, but there were so many trees in the way .. and a stream was down below I tried walking down to get as close as I could.. but there was always a huge branch in the way ... that is why I ask to go out behind it. :)

LOL, delightful sense of humor! It must be a dreary summer indeed, if blue sky causes such excitement. You can have some of ours. We have an abundance of sun and heat again. Fun shot and narrative, and of course, the birds are a plus! :)

My neighbor who normally spends the summer near Manchester was really too happy to get back here in Tucson, AZ this summer. She says she'll take a pass on visiting next year. Anyway, congrats on the patch of blue. I'm sure you needed that.
