Description
Too easy for guessing games, this is what you are left with after eating the flesh of a Nectarine; the stone. Quite an interesting texture to say the least. The top image shows the full stone and the bottom image shows the close up texture. Same stone, same position, just changed the lens for more magnification. The shallow dof in the extreme macro is down to the curve of the stone.
If you want it in your face Please ZOOM, this is a large file.

Amazing! At first I thought it was sponge cake, it was a relief to find it was less calorific, as I can get fat looking at pictures.

Great subject. the details is superb.. This texture remind me (strange idea) the movie serie B of sci-fi.. Menaze of Adromeda and others spacial virus. Great work my friend

I never would have guessed it either Jeff, I would have suggested cake, I just love cake lol I am hungry as I write this and feel like going to the shop to buy some now, thanks Jeff :)

I must have rocks for brains because it didn't look like what you say it is at all to me. First I thought from the thumb it was vomit and when I opened it, I thought it was a molassas and strawberry cookie (that would be delightful). I never would have thought of the stone of a fruit. But, wait...why would I think of vomit and cookies??? Hummmmmmm....... In any case, its good and it made me think and laugh at the same time.

AMAZING MACRO :)

Extraordinary image! Now that you mention it, the thumb does look like the stone of a fruit, but in full view, it looks like a cherry pastry of some sort, even down to the texture on crusty dough! Glad you told us what it was, because I never would have guessed! :)

You sure have a unique way of viewing and shooting things! I would never have thought a nectarine stone, at first glance I thought a rich pastry because it looks so soft this way! Bravo! Thanks for sharing!
