Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

This stuff is amazing how it grows. And, no two are ever the same. A bit of a water texture applied to the photo and you could have kept us all guessing. Great capture.

Stellar shot of the bright tortuous lichen branches -- which look somewhat wicked -- contrasted against the dark background of the garden surface, or ocean floor, Marilyn! No comment on your pun.

Kind of looks like salad....or maybe I'm just hungry.... Nice shot!

The contrast really makes this. Lichen, coral or salad greens, it's a great shot!

Lichen can be one of nature's most eloquent organisms...you caught all its strange & beautiful 'spread', it's river-like movements and multiple colors. But you also got the background as a kind of 'canyon' (even though it's close-up). filled with space and hollows. It's a nice shot of contrasts, and you've made the lichen shine like it had its own light inside. You seem to love to explore the possibilities of everything around you—hope you never stop!
