Description

The one you've all been waiting for, captured 7/10/08, early in the AM, within walking distance of my archaic abode. Weeks in the planning stage, I carefully manipulated my photos around so the #100 rose pic would coincide with my posting of #800. The most difficult part was choosing an appropriate bloom for that honor out of the several hundred rose photos that reside in my database. Actually, maybe this wasn't the best choice; there were several others I could have opted for that would have served just as well in this instance. Or I could have said the heck with it and just posted a rusty Volkswagen Beetle instead. Decisions, decisions. Better viewed full size. How does one measure a rose petal? Perhaps it is enough to just count. I get 19 or 20. The same as milk glands in a mammary.

Double celebration I say. Congrat Harry for your entertaining 800th mark and a very warm congrat for your wonderful milestone reached with a wonderfully gorgeous rose shots. I enjoyed every single or double capture of those sweet flowers in many colors. What a journey and so nice to looking them day after day. Was a wise decision about a fine looking rose then a ww rust box...perhaps next time...lol.

LOL at decisions, decisions....It's really beautiful, Harry. I love how it's detailed and yet still has such a lovely softness. This is a hard color to capture, ( at least for me it is ), and I think you did a bang-up job of it. Congrats on your 800th!
