Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Excellent work, Sir. But, where are the pictures of the Navy Birds? Skipper, Old Broke Wing Navy Jock.

love the crisp plane with the ethereal background. There is something magic and unreal about an airshow, and you've got the feel here:)

Sometime i say, In Switzerland and in Europe we have good airshow, but the two time i was at Oceana and Miramar airshow, it was like a dream for me :) Beautiful Thunderbird pic

I guess I fall into the category of "it's a guy thing". Even though metal birds don't grab me as much as feathered birds, I commend you highly on this series and the shots that you have gotten of these incredibly fast birds in flight and on the ground. Nice series, Bill, and well done images!

I hope that guy ducked just in time lol Great photo!

I love being able to see the people with the plane to get a sense of scale. The guy standing behind the wing is a bit of an optical illusion because he SORT OF looks like hes in front of the wing, so his scale makes the plane look even bigger.

Wow! Excellent capture. It reminds me of watching the Air Force Thunderbirds show in Merced many years ago. Our kids were little, and they loved it.

Great capture Bill. Luke has its 'open house' this upcoming weekend and I hope I get some good shots of aircraft. Have no idea yet what will be there, but the Thunderbirds will be there. I am hoping for a f-22, or a B-2 fly by, or maybe a F-35?
