Description
We were treated to a visit to an old gold mine dump over the weekend. Of COURSE I took my camera!!!! :-p
This is the ramp leading up onto it - it looks like a mountain, but it's all basically man-made.
It consists of all the waste that comes out of a gold mine...
Despite enjoying the scenery, I couldn't help but think of the destruction a mine actually produces and how much pollution there is as a result.
I hope you all enjoy this new series, tho... it's thought provoking, considering where these are taken.

So much a part of Reef scenery, all the mine dumps. Must admit Table Mountain is far more pleasing! I am fascinated by the channel placed to prevent the ramp being eroded. Very educational, as the whole visit must have been. Well done, Clive
