Description

As the surf comes in and battles with the molten lava, it will break and tear away fragments of the active lava as seen in this picture. These fragments may stay afloat and suspend itself on the sea surface for several seconds. You will see more of these floating rocks near the danger zone where the ocean water enters an active lava tube causing an explosion of lava bombs. Will show you more of these floating rocks in my next post when I cross the line. Aloha and thank you for viewing

Look at the difference just that one tongue of fire makes to the surf scene, excellent photography.

Fascinating! Is it the powerful steam that keeps them afloat? Your images are each so perfect!

I find it interesting to see how the land is being built and the battle it has to do just that. Floating rocks are, indeed, a curiousity.

YOU--cross the line???? How very unlikely!! What I really like about, besides the obvious, is the way you caught the wave just breaking--really gives it a sense of movement!!
