Upland is different than hills. Not quite in the mountains here. The defilade is not any where near a valley and not just a ravine.

Black and white photography has always been my favorite--- I was quite fortunate to have met Ansel Adams years ago, and became an ardent fan of his work in black and white. Brings back fond memories, thanks Richard, excellent work, and in the Adams league!!!!!
