Description

When this phenomenum is seen on the water, it's called a Water Spout, but on land it's usually called a Dirt Devil, or Dust Devil. The wind picks up dirt and dust and swirls it around. Probably a mini toranado, LOL. It's seen all around the universe. On this little hot, rocky and sandy planetoid, it's a Sand Devil. Not much lives here, just a few miners who work deep underground mining the specialized stones found only here. This is one of Bunny's landscape scripts, tweaked a bit here and there, finished in PHP with framing and initials. Nothing added to this one, just one flame. Thanks to all of you who took the time to stop and view and comment on the previous post, "The Hand". All the wonderful comments were so much fun to read!! You guys rock! Thanks to all who faved that one also. I did send out thank you notes, but I may have missed some. I hope not! I sure hope all of you in Gustav's path stay safe and dry, with no losses.

I must admit I had never heard of this phenomenon but you've illustrated and rendered it so beautifully here, your fractal work is very impressive and atmospheric. Excellent, Rita!

I see no asteroid here. It is a pretty big planet that carries such an atmosphere. The depth of the horizon is dangerous. The image hot and scary. Well done. Very well done.
