Description

AloooooooooHa! This will be my final image of this series on Waikupanaha. It's been a blast sharing these images with you all these last couple of weeks. Many of you had expressed concern about our safety while walking around the flow. Sharky and I know all too well the dangers of walking on a live flow, and believe me we don't have a death wish. But as photographers we all take a chance now and then to get the shot. We just happened to stay a little longer than most people. In fact I came back for 2 nights because I couldn't get enough. It really is a once in a lifetime event. Each flow to the sea produces different results. Sometimes it's violent and explosive like this time, and sometimes it's just a lot of smoke. But the danger is there always. Much Aloha to my good bra Errol (aka Sharky_). If anyone's up to going if you call, it's Errol. He's been on the flow more times than anyone I know and has come back safe each time. Being knowledgeable about the flow and it's conditions is Errol's forte. Also safety is #1. Minimize the risk....but if you have to lose your mind and walk across the bench, don't take a picnic lunch with you. Ya might not finish that sandwich. Thanks Sharky! Check out his images right Here Also lots of Aloha to Madame Pele for allowing me into her house and giving me a grand tour.....Most of all for looking out for my dumb ass. Being respectful while you are on new ground is always good karma around Madame Pele. I saw people on the flow that just shouldn't have been there. To them, the plume was just a side show while they played games. Paying attention at all times would be good....duh~ There were many comments about seeing faces and animals in the plume. Many of you saw different things in the smoke. Personally, I don't really look that hard until somebody see's something. Sometimes I see it, and sometimes...DUH.. While rummaging through the 600+ images I took in the two nights at Waikupanaha plume this image caught my eye. Big Mahalos for all your comments on this series. A lot of you followed it from beginning to end. I am truly humbled. I'm sure there will be many more trips to the flow in the future, for now I hope your enjoyed yourself. Cya soon.... I leave you with this question: What do you see? Aloha, Na'e

I see two faces... one is an obvious lady on the left that looks like the lady that played 99 in get smart... The other looks like a demon with big eyes, and a birdish fishface look to it.... I look from time to time for images... I seen the image of the Devil live when it happened on 911... It made me take a step back from the TV... That Devil face felt like I was looking into the Devil's eye's as it roared... I have looked for the same image on the net but have only seen the exact same image once since then.... FANTASTIC SERIES AND WAY TO END IT... I can't say enough... but for now, once again.... YOU HAVE BEEN FAVORITIZED!!!

Fantastic bit of photography. I can appreciate the part also about the dangers that photographers can get in the middle of from time to time. There sure does appear to be at least one face in the smoke. Now that I stumbled across this image, I will have to check out your gallery for more of these incredible images..

I, too, see the face. Perhaps it is Madame Pele giving her blessing to the two of you for showing her awesome beauty and power to the world in such a wonderful, caringm, and respectful way. You and Errol have both done an outstanding job with this series. Blessings to you both.
