Description

AlooooooHa! It's been a spectacular night of shooting for me. I've experienced Madam Peles awesome power all through the night and I am humbled by her presence. It really was like was watching a huge big screen TV in HD. These are memories I will take to the rocking chair. And when my grand kids ask if I was really there, I have the proof. But my legs ache from standing all night long and walking around holding my tele. It is indeed time to go. I see Sharky is making his way back to my position on the lava. I have not seen him this close all night as he walked the area most of the night. He is truly a braver man than I to walk around in the dark at night. If you would like to check out his shots have a look at his gallery Here You won't be disappointed. I have one more image to post tonight to finish off this series. Big Mahalos again for all who have followed this series and for the many comments you've taken the time to write. I certainly appreciate the time you have spent with me. Till tonight....have a great holiday off to those who celebrate!! Aloha~

Great capture again! The human figure puts the whole thing in perspective, and it's even more impressive. Thanks for sharing this with us!

Another spectacular shot. Errol looks pooped as well, as he walks towards you. It is great to still be young enough to do these things. Aloha, can't wait to see your last post.

That smoke seems to have such a rich texture all its own; like it might feel like cotton balls in your hands. So massive, too, as compared to the size of Sharky :)

I have been tracking the network of lava tubes coming down from the Pali (mountain). Walked a little over 3 miles that night. Its just amazing how the new molten lava just surgically carves out and remove the old terrain and add a new face lift to herself. Thanks for the picture of me. I rarely see myself as I'm always the one with the camera. Hope to see you more out there as this might be one of your callings. A most excellent job. Aloha

It was an amazing journey... As hot as I can imagine this area, I can't help but feel you melted some soul - souls to the bottem of your shoes - lol ...did you? That might be an interesting shot.
