Excellent light. I don't like spiders... so I can't say much about this one :)

You got everything right, but I'm not much of a spider lover either, they just always creep me out!!

Looks to be a quite large garden spider Mick, excellent clarity and detail, I have seen plenty around this year but not any really large ones. Mind you the magpies keep coming and eating both spiders and eggs. One of them clings onto the pebble dash of the house opposite and searches just under the eves. He/she then hops onto our fence and wipes the web off his beak, I have yet to get a pic of that. Superb work with this one mate, almost dead center on its web, I know how difficult it can be, especially if there is a slight breeze. Bravo!!!!!

Excellent title and shot Mick, I tried the other day to get a wolf spider, but they are quite shy, even for their size, you did well mate...For those who don't know, this spider takes it's name from the shape on the thorax area of the body, you can clearly see the head of a wolf.

the background is really an eye catcher and sets off this spider and web nicely. Great catch and glad to see you employ a natural form of garden pest eradication. :-)

I agree Mick, the background shallow DOF effect really sets the Spider off.
