What a fantastic macro, Mick!!! It must be one of your best yet! I think it is a Green veined White. it says in the book that it is one of the more variable of our butterflies, which can range from almost pure white with no black spots, to dusky buff heavily dusted with grey. The Large White and the Small White both have a yellowish rear underwing.

fantastic detailed macro, you can see how fluffy her body is and that eye is really something (like half a golf ball) lol. Excellent capture.

Great title mate, I have seen two butterflies this yaer in London, one small blue, and a cabage white, guess those developers are ruining the place, after all, there aint much nectar in bricks and mortar eh?

Superb macro Mick, Zoom is a must for this, love Alans description of the eye a good analogy I think. Mind you half a golf ball isn't much use. Lol. Excellent clarity and detail. Bravo!!!!! Less than a week now!

Gorgeous macro Mick! Love the eyes! We didn't have many butterflies this year either and I saw only one Monarch that of course never landed where I could get a shot!
