Description

This is a shelf in the dining room. It isn't very big ... just about the right size for a candle or a vase. The day I took this photograph there was a red rhododendron in full bloom outside the window, which gave the reflected light a lovely rosy cast. The doorway you see in the background is the double door that leads into the dining room from the entrance hall. David asked me to take this shot, because these lovely shelves are his favorite architectural detail in the whole house.

In older homes there are so many delightful surprises. I once had an older home with a phone nook. A recessed area with an arched opening where the phone would sit - located in the entry to the hallway. I loved it. I can see how precious this shelf would be to any lover and owner of an older home. Fabulous shot.

A very nice podium for one of Trent and Davids object d' art, I'm sure it will be something as ellegant as this shelf deserves. A lot of people tear the guts out of old buildings to bring them up to date, it's nice to know Trent and David are not like that, and that this fine bit of detail will be saved. I like old victorian houses and the plaster coving they have around the ceiling. I also like the type that have picture beading like our family home has. No nead to hammer nails into the walls just hang a picture hook from the beading. I know its going to be a few years before they get the new place to look as they want it to, I just hope I'm around long enough to see it through your lens. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

Sometimes also it is not necessary to leave far, the object for photographing can is in several meters from you. Only it is necessary to look and give new sense correctly!
