Description

When the eye of the storm pass over you like it do to me. the wind started from the northeast and got strong then. As the eye pass the winds stops and the rain and all is calm. The cloud cover was over us the whole time so that means the eye way falling apart at the time. But as the eye passes the wind starts to come from the south. now the came was all laying down in one way as the eye passes but I did not go and take any photos for I did not know how long the eye would be over us. I could have been on the outer edge and it be calm for a minture or two. But it was calm for about 20 mintures. I just wanted to be save for the winds picks up real fast and i watch the can get picked up and some was upright again. but you see it ever which way. I guess i drive to wghere the cane is one way and get some shots. Yes the cane can be saves. They will lose some of the cane for the trucks and stuff to get the cane will have to drive over some and that will be lose. The sugar contents may be lower too. I not sure. Some one told me yes it be lower. this field is by Lake Martin. It doing super . I post some soon. many years ago they could not get the cane like this but now they can. One machine they use cost $500,000 and you wonder why sugar is high! I did post one in the past year that had tracks and not wheels. Tracks like a tank have. It will not get stuck in the mud. thanks for looking and comments

Crops give ethics to the quest for food. Nature brings up what she chooses.

I can't really imagine what it must be like Jocko, I don't think there are words that can convey what people experience when one of these hits. We don't have anything near here in the UK, and seeing it on TV is not a good substitute for the real thing. Just happy that you and yours are well, others as well I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Its good that most of the cane can be rescued as well. Excellent capture and narrative. Bravo!!!!!

Great shot, Jock. Looks like some damage has been done to the canes. But maybe it could have been much worse.+5

Because it grows from the eyes and roots, these should be ok unless the roots rip from the ground. Sun will put it right in time. Great shot that tells much about the wind in a circular storm.

I'm so happy to hear you are safe! The storm is passing by us as we speak, surely not nearly as strong as it was by you. I took a shot of trees in my neighbors yard, with the wet bark and the way the light was hitting it, it looked like snow.OH my gosh, I said that word LOL.. I put on my earphones, turned on my ipod and danced in the rain. The drops were large, summer soft and warm. I loved it!! Love the sky though... it even looks ominous! What I love most though Jock, is the angle that you took the cane at. The diagnol view justaposes nature with an abstract feel. Fantastic work!!
