Description

Things are what we see in them. Like, I saw a pair of dice in rectanguar rocks and had to look for more to make them six and paint pips. They are still on one of my shelves. The cricket is from another image.

A very nice concept Nikolay, well seen and beautifully executed. What is the significance of the CH monogram in the lower right corner?

Creative and fun work Nikolay! I love that you honor your inner child with these sorts of activities, I've seen it many times in your gallery. I think its such an important thing to do, bravo!

I wonder if you know Saul Steinberg's work...this image reminds me of him. He painted on bathtubs, cartons, dishes, whatever. But this has your fine-tuned sense of texture and 'presence', something Steinberg never tried (he wasn't a photographer). Just as a collection of stones, it's most intriguing and textural and tactile. The dice 'pips' add to the play. I love the graininess of your shadows, and the cricket—appearing slightly over-exposed and therefore kind of an 'energy'—is a perfect companion for reasons I can't explain. The white background is perfect for such textures, and the whole makes a little haiku. Ok, I know maybe 2 words of Russian, but I'll try: удвительный and игривый! (That's supposed to say "wonderful and playful". If I wound up insulting half of byelorussia, forgive me!) I love this image.
