Hello! My name is Jodie. I live in Minnesota where the temps can fluxuate by 20 degrees in one day. Most of my photos have been taken very close to my home, a 10 acre hobby farm., where I raise Alpacas and chickens. I am a band director, a musician/singer and a photographer/adviser on the yearbook committee. My camera of choice is a Nikon. I have a D90 and a D70. I also have a SB800 flash and favorite lens is Nikon 18-200mm AF-S, with VR. Revisiting the visual arts is something I should have done years ago. If I see something remarkable, I just try to capture it. Nobody else will ever see it quite that way again so I hope you try that, too. This is just like expensive therapy for us. Thank you for visiting and may you have a peaceful day!

Perfectly composed with a fantastic light. This touches my heart! When I look at the little girl I think: Poor little one!!!(says a little of my own school memories) Are you a teacher Jodie? or a parent?

It's really beautiful. It speaks eloquently for itself...a long gaze through a darkened church, which all opens on a girl on her way to school. You really capture these moments beautifully. The symmetry is eloquent, and the light has that wonderful 'burn', that way things dissolve in the sun. You really do have a way with light in deep spaces...And your floor—just like some other shots of yours—is luminous. It's beautiful. A jodie shot to the core...(HUGS!) (that was a Mina reference. I pay her for that!)

Superb pic!

Excellent use of the lighter areas from back in the dark, it emphasizes the contrast. Very significant that the road to the light has its own steps, albeit small.

Genesis II on display in this shot. I echo busi2ness/Piet on his comments, Jodie. Having been absent from my computer for a while, I'm really in the rears in checking out my e-bots!!!

I love the sense of balance in this, from the geometric composition, to the dark vs. light... Great eye, Jodie, and great timing. I love how the little girl is just perfectly 'centered'. Very symbolic and a wonderful way for her to start her year! Well done, sweetie. -M :^)
