Description

Hello ! This house was built in 1908 by my Grand Father. In 1909 he moved in. He lived with his family and 7 kids in the house for about 40 years as a customs officer and Harbour Master. Later they moved up above the Harbour. This is how the Harbour looked from the house, which they called "Edge of the beach" or "The Beach-edge", if you like. The colored shot is taken last year by me. It is now a Restaurant. Thanks for having a look and for your kind commends to yesterdays post. Special thanks to those who added it to their favorites. Have a lovely week. We have changing weather and not about 15-17C, about 62F.

these kind of images are always interesting, especially when buildings survived such a long time. a potty they replaced the big porch with windows.

It must be wonderful to be able to see a building that has such history to yourself surviving the changing times. Great shot and presentation

Well, for me, I like the original style more than the remodel. but the photos of both are wonderful. Your Grandfather had a marvelous career and the house he built is stellar.

thanks for this piece of your life, Helle. Amazing to see the transition. When you go to the restaurant, do you tell them it was built by your grandfather? (I don't imagine they'll give you a free meal, but at least they can be impressed!) It's great to see pieces of your life, and those shots of all those people standing there are great. A lovely retrospective, and like everything else in your gallery, a real pleasure...
