Description

I'm still trying to get to grips with 2D imagery in Photoshop. This one is made up from parts of free daytime images of London all merged together. I then turned it into a night-time scene, created all the lighting and then painted in the spaceships. I must say a massive thanks to all who favourited my 'Old Place By The Lake' render as it got me to number 6 in the Art Charts a few weeks back. As always, any comments on this one will be most welcome. I will get around to returning all my comments but please bear with me as it takes time to comment on over 200 galleries ... but believe me it is a pleasure to view so many fine pieces of artwork. while the scene itself is a bit harrowing, the piece is quite beautiful; all of golds & yellows and rich earthen darks...the lights on (in the back buildings) are quite effective, and give eerie life to a row of buildings about to be attacked. The fog spilling from the sky gives the atmosphere mystery and sensuousness (it's quite palpable), and your clouds & sky—both coming to a "V" in harmony—are looming and rich with menace and foreboding. All of a piece in a way, and very masterful; I can see why you get so many viewers. You even put the lights on the bridges. A fine piece of work...

excellent collage and reworking of photos ... I think you have it mastered ... why "coming to grips?? It looks like an "old hand" put the scene together. Excellent photo manipulation!
