Description

Piece by piece I've paid homage to my friends on the 2D forum. My very first image was for ZannZen (Suzanne), then for Helle, then Gunsan, all of them dear & all of them friends. And I said over and over: "One day I'll do something for you..." Now I come full circle. For Koosie--aka, Koosievantutte--whose art reminds us that the smallest line can be as much a work of art as the Sistine Chapel. An exaggeration? Not if you know Koosie...that he produces images of grace & beauty goes without saying: But that he finds beauty in every element can't be said enough. He respects line, design, texture, background. He respects typography--the elegance of the letter and its 'speech'. He respects the lowly number...Those of us who've seen his forum drawings know they have genuine grace, a draftsman's perfection and that deftness-of-hand that makes them subtle & funny at the same time. Some of his drawings convince me he channels from the grand designer in the sky. I'm not sure who that designer IS, but I'm pretty sure he/she knows Koosie... Then why these strange creatures--do I think Koosie resembles a Paramecium? No! It's that I did these when I was studying microscopic forms, and they taught me the elements of everything. In Koosie's hands they'd have had incredible deftness & grace, but in mine they still have gratitude: For you Sir K, my deepest gratitude. My bow to your wonderful art... Thanks everyone for your comments & favs: As always, they're greatly appreciated. Peace to all, Mark (All strengths to dear Helle, tomorrow; and to a friend struggling with family: much peace & comfort your way...)

Great and loving dedi to Koosie. Strange small beings, fascinating,I get no associations and that is great.I cannot put them in any category, reminding me of my trying not to name things I see. If you sort, you stop to really see.

Wonderful use of color. My first impression is that these are very active microbes, maybe dancing microbes. I like your presentation as well. Your dedication to Koosie touched on all the elements of his approach to his art, and his personality as well.

Mark this is simply amazing and I know your friend will be honored. Reading your wonderful write up for him hear really says a lot about him as he can apparently bring out true beauty in even the smallest of things as you have done also.

The one on the left makes me think spider - but still I quite like the colour and style of these - and the odd fascinating shapes. Cool work

Oh Mark.. these are stunning. And IF they are truly creatures then they have donned their Mardi Gras bests for Koosie in love and support. Very well done. (And btw - It's not just a work of Art - it's a piece of your heart.) Awesome.
