Description

Lisa taking a late afternoon bike ride while we were vacationing on Bokeelia, Pine Island, Florida. It looks like Hurricane Ike decided to thrash Cuba instead of Florida (though a good bit of Key West is experiencing flooding) so we are thankful for that. Our thoughts are with those who were hit hard by Ike and those who still may be effected by him in Texas and Mexico. The NOAA Coastal Services Center has a new online tool that some of you might find interesting, a Historical Hurricane Tracks finder. It is a neat new interactive mapping application that allows you to easily search and display Atlantic Basin and Eastern North Pacific Basin tropical cyclone data. Use it to find a specific storm track or even all the tracks that cross near a certain zip code? Find where Katrina, Iniki, or even Donna made landfall. -----

The best part of the Fl summer day. near sunset, along the water. Nice warm colors and the curving road pulls us right into the picture. I'm glad Ike took a hike!
