Description
This is the reason 9/11 will never be a day of mourning for me...my son Alex. He arrived shortly after midnight on Sept 11, one month and a day after my birthday. He was so small, but already had a personality all his own. Time has passed and as a parent there have been good, great, not so great and even frustrating times. But he has grown into such a wonderful person. He's in band, has a job, a car and a girlfriend. He's making good grades and has (for now) a career plan and is taking classes towards that. I'm so proud of him.
So here is something else to remember on this tragic date...there were some very good things that happend too and we should take time to share our love with our family and friends.
Blessed be my friends,
Shawnda

What a handsome young man! I am so glad that he is a joy and he makes life worth it. It is good that 9/11 is not just a day of mourning, but a day of life and happiness too!

I was playing golf at Blair Atholl in Scotland when 9/11 took place. I was on holiday & it was a beautiful day. I walked into the clubhouse after my round and there were 3 ladies sitting having a natter and taking absolutely no notice of the TV which was broadcasting the awful pictures. I was glued to the television in horror for the rest of the day, much like the rest of the world. The terrorists would love us to remember this day for their evil deeds, but like you, I have fond memories of where I was, why I was there & what I was doing. They were awful events, but I can't help thinking the 3 golf ladies had the right idea; don't give the perpetrators the attention they crave.

Your beautiful words are very right. On each day of a year terrible things happen and wonderful things too. It 's life. But today, here in Italy a 16 year old girl was killed by a bomb in front of the school, and other girls are in danger of life. There are bad people around us, and this makes me very sad today.
