Description

Another shot of a tail ender, captured back on 5/13/06 at the Orange Empire Railway Museum in Perris, California. The 80-acre site features 200 steam, diesel and electric locomotives, as well as passenger and freight cars, streetcars, and other railway equipment. Rail transportation in the West from the late 1870s through the 1960s is depicted. I regret that I didn't take more of a side shot of the railcar at the time. Thankx for the peek, and have a totally temperate Thursday.

There were some with bay windows on the side and no cupola on the top. Life inside was like in a trailer with a small office.

I always loved seeing the caboose when a train went by, and waving at the railroad man standing at the back. We used to cheer to see it go by!

We used to cheer too, because it meant the train was past and we could go again! Five kids in a car before seatbelts....scary thought! Great captures, it's a lovely old caboose...

Very nice collage, Harry... this is what a caboose should look like, much better in red than yellow, and brings back childhood memories. :)

Very cool shot O'lboy. I'm wondering if Wyatt Earp might of slugged back a few shots of Jack Daniels inside this baby? Looks like it might of been in that era?

Just looked back a little ways in your gallery. I took a bunch of shots of old rail cars last Monday...haven't decided what to do with them. I've got about 5 different cabooses (tall enders)...some are in rough shape but all have Santa Fe markings on them. Your caboose here looks like it recently received a beautiful new paint red job...markings maybe were in the wings? Nice collage...your's have inspired me to do a few of these. Bill
