Description

Hello All! Another from my recent trip to Amish country... this was captured of an older farm I was drawn to the sky after the sudden rainstorm . played with it a bit in paint shop this week to draw it out. I might have played with it too much as I was trying to get out a bit of the grain here... I have always been drawn to the Amish life style ever since I saw the Harrison Ford movie "Witness" in the 80's ( one of my favorites). This day I kept having my Mom pull her car over to the side of the road to catch the rainbow, sky and country Amish farm life that seemed almost surreal to me that day after the rain. Have many pics I have been wanting to upload from my trip but haven't been on lately due to fighting a serious medical infection that started at the beginning of the summer . Had an ultrasound yesterday and have to go see a surgeon Monday . Not feeling too well as on some pretty strong meds but wanted to put one up to say hello today. Will try and get caught up on all your wonderful art works and comments as I can . Love to you all !!! ((( BIG HUGS ))) ~Kimmers ♥ :O)

first kimarie, I wish you all the best with your health. Please get well soon. I'm sorry you've been afflicted of late...Your image is another capture of radiance in the everyday. You've captured that strange lull & pregnant quality so typical of the Midwest before or after a storm. But you have scintillating detail in the trees, fore and mid-ground: They shimmer, even if quietly. And there's a painterly quality to the house and fence which I find beautiful. And your sky is, like several of your skies, filled with Beethoven-like power, bursting, complex, commanding. And in the middle of it all—the carriage, nicely set against the fence (wheels below & windows above, I mean that's nitpicking detail but, conscious or just organic, it's basic photographic harmony). Its presence seems the essence of the shot: quiet, dark, beautiful and reflective, as all such post-storm quiets are. Beautiful. Please get better soon, your presence means a lot to a lot of people...

Damn it girl! Get yourself better. You're too young to have med problems. Wonderful composition. Looks like a picture from the past. This would probably look nice in sepia, but then you would loose the awesome colors. Get better, Miss Kimmers =)
