Description

I know I have a couple other flies in my gallery. But because of the ease of finding these guys and the great colors and head shape/look they have I dig shooting them. I wondered though what some of my macro shots would look like in HDR, so here is a first attempt. Again as with most all my HDR, I stay on the minimal/less drastic side of it. I do think there is a place for the surreal look of it, but I have yet to find an image of mine I like that look on. Here it merely enhanced the colors and lighting. Bruce, this is simply incredible and stunning. I live in a place called KwaZulu-Natal which means "place of the zulu". However, in summer it is more like kwaNunu because "nunu" is the Zulu word for bug and in the sweltering subtropical heat you are guaranteed of seeing at least 10 bugs or nunus every week that you have never seen before or even be able to identify. I think you would enjoy it here! There are crickets, flies, moths, beetles, fireflies, flying ants, flies, worms, larvae, caterpillars, termites, spiders, scorpions, centipedes, flies, fruitflies, and a myriad other things with six or more legs, winged or not. With summer on its way, I'll see what I can do for you.

Excellent detail and colors and I am also careful using the HDR for anything other that natural scenes - which may be totally missing out on good things, who knows.
