To all of my mother's Renderosity friends:
It saddens me to no end to tell you that my mother, Mina, passed on May 31st, from endometrial cancer. She is survived by my father, Roger, and myself. I apologize for not letting you all know sooner, but her passing has left me with a broken heart and it is very hard to write this, even now. I don't suppose there will ever come a time that it will be easier.
I know how much she loved you all, how much it meant to her to have met such wonderful people, and how much it meant to her to create & share her art with you. I am leaving her work here for a while, as tribute to her, her beauty, her talent & her love.

(I hate when people start with quotes, but I'm gonna do it anyway): "...So I unto my selfe alone will sing/the woods shall to me answer and my Eccho ring..." It's the wrong poem (!) but it's still Spenser (Epithalamion), and somehow fits viewing your work—ie, the desire to sing & hear one's song echoed back from the world. You captured the stately Queen in her demeanor & holding the universe in her hands; but it's all Mina, all mystery & lushness & mysticism through & through. Don't know how Elizabeth would've felt, though secretly she might've yearned to leave the queendom and join you. What I do know is the face is beautiful & deep, and the orb has secrets no political queen would likely see, except in deep nights of reflection. It's bathed in bluish-greens, and the violet light-threads at bottom are beautiful. I love the free-hand ornament on the edges too—almost like it was drawn by the queen's inner-child; and your purplish-green border is the perfect frame. Beholde, she hath done it again! Another burst from her star-borne soul!...lush & beautiful, M. A definite fav.
