Description

Mornin' All *S* And, yes, I had in mind Edmund Spenser's The Faerie Queene in case some of you were wondering .....highly stylized, of course :o) Info for those who are burning with curiosity : Edmund Spenser (c. 1552 – 13 January 1599) was an important English poet and Poet Laureate best known for The Faerie Queene, an epic poem celebrating, through fantastical allegory, the Tudor dynasty and Elizabeth I. The Faerie Queene is an English epic poem by Edmund Spenser, published first in three books in 1590, and later in six books in 1596. The Faerie Queene is notable for its form: it was the first work written in Spenserian stanza. It is an allegorical work, written in praise of Queen Elizabeth I. Largely symbolic, the poem follows several knights in an examination of several virtues. Wishing everyone a great Saturday and, as always, many many thanks for all your wonderful comments and faves.....and yes I do read all my comments in answer to some who were wondering :o) ~ Love & Hugs ~ Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting * Mina * Credits: www.fae_stock.deviantart.com www.luana.deviantart.com www.prettybrush.deviantart.com

(I hate when people start with quotes, but I'm gonna do it anyway): "...So I unto my selfe alone will sing/the woods shall to me answer and my Eccho ring..." It's the wrong poem (!) but it's still Spenser (Epithalamion), and somehow fits viewing your work—ie, the desire to sing & hear one's song echoed back from the world. You captured the stately Queen in her demeanor & holding the universe in her hands; but it's all Mina, all mystery & lushness & mysticism through & through. Don't know how Elizabeth would've felt, though secretly she might've yearned to leave the queendom and join you. What I do know is the face is beautiful & deep, and the orb has secrets no political queen would likely see, except in deep nights of reflection. It's bathed in bluish-greens, and the violet light-threads at bottom are beautiful. I love the free-hand ornament on the edges too—almost like it was drawn by the queen's inner-child; and your purplish-green border is the perfect frame. Beholde, she hath done it again! Another burst from her star-borne soul!...lush & beautiful, M. A definite fav.
