I am a self-taught artist working both in the 2D realm of traditional painting(watercolours, acrylics and ink) and the 3D realm of digital painting and CGI(mainly Bryce and Photoshop). My work is primarily SciFi,Fantasy and Landscape,as well as logo design and conceptual art.  I have always been interested in all things SciFi,as a kid growing up in Rushden,Northamptonshire,England I was a huge fan of such shows as The Thunderbirds,Captain Scarlet,Dr.Who and many more.Upon emigrating to Alberta,Canada I was captivated by the beauty of the Rockies and the diversity of wildlife and spent years studying animals and painting realistic wildlife scenes in watercolour. My originals hang in collections worldwide. Now,my attention has switched back to SciFi,and my knowledge of creature anatomy and habits,as well as colour sense and compositional skills now come into play in a whole new realm...3D.  During the day I work in a gallery and frameshop in Kelowna,BC,Canada where I have lived for almost thirty years. As the shop manager and master framer,I am constantly influenced by the art that is both shown in the gallery and framed for clients.  As a member of Renderosity for just over a year,I have come to know many of the artists here, and have been inspired by their works.I have also been fortunate to have works chosen for display on other sites, and to have been featured in articles in two digital magazines, all as a result of the exposure from this site.My goal is to continue, and push my knowledge with each image.Thank you for taking the time to view my gallery!

Nice action scene. Well done!

Nice use of DOF and great action scene! Never had Bryce crash on saving, but I have had it take forever, especially with lots of objects (as in hours to save). One trick for the paranoid is to save image first (and give it a name different than the project), and then save the file. That way, you'd still have the picture if not the scene.

Too bad about the crash, specially on that moment. Murphy's law, I guess... Very nice composition. The very tight crop on the top and bottom maybe is a bit too much, but maybe being this tight enhances the dynamics of the scene. The vegetation looks really good. The DOF looks good too. Good job!

WOW - you ´re a fan of insects. Bryce crashes sometimes if I import objects from poser and I want to scale them up, even my PC is about 2 years. Nice scene, ist it part of story ?

Hard luck, but at least you got something! It is still a very good action picture. I hate it when you get a crash on the final stuff!

I know what you mean about the crash, I'm having the same issues with Vue 6 Easel and Poser imports. A nice looking scene, though. It looks a little like what I just posted. The lighting looks a bit hazy, though, like theres a mist or fog in the air, but the shadows are too crisp. But very good work!

Those ants look real nasty...I hope Vicky prevails! Very cool scene, looks like a lot of work was involved.

How annoying to get a crash at the stage when you are saving. Maybe due to the number of polygons in this one as you have used a lot of objects, however Bryce should be able to handle it. Great action scene Neil, certainly plenty of detail to focus on. Tony.
CATMANDO
Great action scene and render.
artgum
Excellent scene.

More cool action, Neil. Seems as tho she stepped upon the nest. Sorry you encountered that 'crash.' That has only happened to me a few times while constructing a new image from a previous one....taking out certain items and adding others. Hasn't happened, tho, while saving the final work. I have learned to take the time in saving as i go along, now.

I am sorry for your computer crash, but hope you'll fix it soon! Otherwise, it is a fantastic composition, with fascinating action and very good render.

Cool scene! Has a retro-SciFi feel to it that I like. Well done!

Sad about the crash. I have enjoied the giant bug renders you have been doing that remind me of some old book covers. Good work!

Very nice action scene. Well done.

Great work again Neil The only thing I don't like about this, is that the ant in the back looks like his eye was added in after in Microsoft Paint, just an outlined circle. Looks funny to me, but other than that... Great poses, looking much better. I think it would have been cool to have one of the ants a little more aggressive than just walking towards her. The one closest to the front is good, but the one right behind it could have been doing more of a pounce... not that ants exactly pounce... humm, I don't know

excellent action scene and posing....lovely done!
darkness_02
love it... soz to hear about Bryce going down on you like that...

Hey - now this is a piece that's simply C-O-O-L!!! This is canon Sci Fi. 1950s flavor with an delicious hint of 1960s / early 70s cheese (namely - the chick fighting the giant picnic crashers). This is prime poster fodder and I love it - two thumbs and four stars!
