Description

To all the victims of Hurricane Ike... Yemayah, aka Yemaya is the mother of a host of the Orishas, the Orisha & Goddess of the Ocean. She is another manifestation of the Black Madonna and has also been known as The Star Of The Sea along with Mary. I have a few Yemayah statues in my collection. Anyway---this is to all those affected by Hurricane Ike... Really lovely work. The dress is gorgeous - full of wonderful textures. Great feeling of movement in her hair and in that sea flooding in. A beautiful tribute to all those heroes who have been helping people in the wake of hurrican Ike. I have friends who had their house wash away in the storm. So sad.

Fantastic - and a wonderfull dedication. We are shocked here by what happens on the U.S. coast and (although the news like to forget about them) in India and Haiti.
