Description

I wanted to thank all of you for your wonderful supportive comments yesterday. It means more than you can know. I wanted to add just a bit before I get to the quote I want to leave with you tonight. Many non-depressed people don't understand the depth of depression. I have had people tell me, "just get over it". A rather cold and callous statement. It seems many times that people in general think we like this state of being. We don't. It isn't a matter of 'control' or 'choice'. Chronic, lasting depression is believed to be from an imbalance of brain chemicals. That is the latest medical information that I know about. Many of the newer medications for depression work a specific way in the brain. They do help, but of course a person can't take a 'happy' pill. There is no such thing, nor should there be. If you know someone who is depressed, be there when they need to talk, let them know they aren't alone. Remind them that they won't always feel that way. There is hope even if they feel hopeless, I know. Don't think they are weak-minded. Some of the strongest people I have known have been depressed people, because against amazing odds, they are survivers. Thanks again. Quote for the Day: "We know what we are, but we know not what we may be." William Shakespeare

This is gorgeous! Splendid and elegant creation. And you are right! Depression has to be cared for. Not only by oneself, but by friends and family. Bunny
