Description

Morning all :o) This goat ,along with the fly on back leg was at the farm we went to the other week in Durham .I got all my gear ready last night with the intention of getting up early and going to the coast to see if I could get a sunrise shot .Well i got up early but the skies are just boring grey as usual so i`m going to wait as even though the coast is only 12 miles away its a waste of diesel because I know exactly the shot I want and it does`nt involve grey skies lol :o)..We are going to Primrose Valley at the weekend near Scarborough ,which is on the coast so I`m going to try there . Thanks for looking and take care .I`ve nearly caught everyone up now .Phew :o) Mick

Do nannies have horns??? I went to the beach last night for sunset shots, but it was foggy there, too. But, I still got some great fotos, you just never know what you'll find---sweet shot!

Without a rather personal inspection I'd say you can tell from the pong....Billies have quite an aroma! I've a real fondness for goats, if I had more land I'd keep a couple! the down side is they can need milking THREE times a day!

Most probably a nanny: that appears to be a orange-red service mark left by a selected male goat.

I think its a billy goat, looking at the thickness of the horns and the size of the beard. I love goats, I had the pleasure of having a little herd of my own:-) They are such characters, sweet (some of them) and naughty too. The farmers say here in South Africa if you can throw water through a fence then a goat will get through it too:-)Wonderful shot of this cutie pie. A favourite for sure!!

Another animal my sister used to keep on the farm she lived on, it was not her farm but her brother in laws, she lived in a very large mobile home. It was two large ones actually bolted together. She never bought milk whilst living there the goats used to provide her with more than enough. Can't tell the sex by this photo Mick, but a quick feel under the hind quarter would have told you without a doubt. Lol. It looks to be a young one whichever sex it is. Excellent capture, superb clarity and detail, right down to the fly. Bravo!!!!!

Could it just be trans-gender? :-) Love face and the coat is so silky looking. Nice pov. I had the same problem with coastal shots while I was on vacation. Everything was gray. I took the shots and just hoped I'd be able to bring something out in the editing...

Wonderful capture of a goat, whatever he/she is. It seems like a girl to me, just because of the look on the face (how scientific is that? lol) Or a very young one.
