Description

That´s a female Gonepteryx rhamni, captured earlier this summer. I will post the male tomorrow. I especially like the colors of this butterflies. They are most of the times the first butterflies appearing in spring. Some years there will be a second generation in the late summer. Hope you like "her" - best view in full size. Thank you all for the kind words on my last image - it´s a big honor for me to get so much support of all the great people here. Special thanks to Christina, Andrea, PJ, Lee, Richard, Melanie and Sawen for your friendship. You are all great artists - go on with your wonderful work.

You are too kind for the mention but I must say, you deserve every praise you get for your skills. Like this butterfly here - the detail is really wonderful. I know the difficulty in butterflies because I have 2 that I stressed over for clear shots (over 70 shots!) and never got one as crisp and clean as this!

Perfection, Markus! A pic to be especially proud of! It looks marvellous on the pink. I caught one earlier this year on purple honesty.

wow!impressive.I have found this breed to be so hard to capture because of their rapid movement. I have only seen 2 that would allow me to get close, then dof ruined my efforts
