Description

I started reading to my son almost the day he was born. Books are a huge part of my life and his too. One of his most favorite books as a toddler was "Goodnight Moon", a simple little story about saying goodnight to all your best things at bedtime. These are the three shots I got the other night and they reminded me of this book. "Goodnight room. Goodnight moon. Goodnight cow jumping over the moon. Goodnight light, and the red balloon..." Just reading these words brings back the sweetest memories of that little boy who grew up into the man he is today.

I am the non-reader in this. I did read magazines after comic books and began a study of part numbers. When a lady tells me she is insulted by men who look at parts I am always very shy and look to the horizon. Yes I, I did matriculate to Playboy and even examined early Hustler but none of the parts there were numbered. That led to ordering industrial catalogs for raw materials from POWER magazine. Wowser! every item with at least 16 digits and some alphanumeric. Not a math aid in sight.

Nice work - I like the middle one too, probably because you can see the details of the moon face and the yellow color is cool!

Pauline and I did the same with Emma, at first it was just stories from my head, mainly so that she heard my voice and felt how much I loved her. Then it started with books, and she still has some of them saved away in the loft. Actually there is that much stuff from her childhood up there I think the ceiling will come through at times. Excellent work with the moon pics, I think the midle one is the better of the three. Like Denise says it has more features than the others. Bravo!!!!!

I like all 3 but that middle one is just breathtaking........books open up so much to us...whether they are fictional or nonfiction....I have always loved to read and and read to my own children when they were young. Now I write short stories for my grandchildren using their first names as the characters, usually little furry critters in the forest and their own parents read those to them...

Reading is like breathing its like meditation or traveling, it opens up new horizons. Wonderful image with the bit of story about the Moon and your son.

I can't recall for sure the title, but I believe it was The Nightmare Under My Bed or something like that that my son craved. But that was 34 years ago. Wonderful tri-moon presentation here.

A most poignant of narratives to go along with the three stark moon photos, Marilyn. There must be a jillion songs of romance containing the word, moon. Also, did you know that the moon is almost imperceptibly moving away, inch by inch, from the earth? Too bad we don't have more natural satellites.
