...but if anyone knows exactly what kind of beetle this is, Iceshark39 would really appreciate it. For the record, I'm posting this under duress! Iceshark39 is making me!!
On our recent trip together to San Simeon, Iceshark and I had to give Starling an emergency bath outside (I'll spare you the gory details). Anyway, after that ordeal, Iceshark sat down briefly on an old park bench at the edge of a field next to the parking lot. When we were headed back inside, I noticed something on the seat of her pants. Telling her to stand still for a moment and let me borrow Starling's towel, I brushed this not so little bug off her butt.
We took this picture to prove it to our friends and family when we told the story of our misadventure.

Just seeing that thing STILL gives me the creeps!!! (and Star thanks you for not embarassing her). That really freaked me out! I'm just glad you saw it before I brought it in the HOUSE! Does ANYONE know what this thing is?? I mean other than just a really big bug?! It had to have been at LEAST three inches long!

well, it's not the type of bug I thought it was if it was 3" - Longer than your finger??? wow. this looks like a bug we have out her in colorado that are common, but only grow to about an inch - inch and a half tops... have not known of them ever biting anybody... but they do give off a stink for defense, I've always known this type of bug as a "stink bug" ...I just thought I'd see what's in your gallery. Iceshark has been posting halloween images and saying you two are doing this, so I was curious what you posted... haven't posted in almost a month? still taking down the halloween stuff? lol

he is harmless. Why are so many 2 legged critters scared of multi-legged critters lol ;)
