Description

"And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do, I don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying? There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime." "If you can hear this whispering you are dying." "I never said I was frightened of dying." from "The Great Gig in the Sky" by Richard Wright (1943-2008)

Some have you probably heard the sad news already. On Monday, Richard Wright passed away from a longtime battle with cancer. He was one of the founding members of Pink Floyd, writing such hits as "The Great Gig in the Sky" and "Us and Them" and worked on the group's epic compositions such as "Atom Heart Mother," "Echoes" and "Shine On You Crazy Diamond." Richard's keyboard work always blew me away, transporting me to other realms. His last appearance with Pink Floyd was when they reunited to perform at the "Live 8" charity concert in London -- the first time in 25 years they had ALL been onstage together. I was fortunate enough to see Pink Floyd in concert during the Division Bell tour. I had nosebleed seats, but I'll never forget what a show they put on, and how great the music was. The music of Pink Floyd made a big impact on me and I can't help but feel a little sad to hear of death of another member of that once great group. See you on the Dark Side of the Moon Richard... -----

Interesting that this Pink Floyd titles comes on my mind every time I view something unusual happening overhead. Apart from a powerful artistic aspect this image and your others alike possess a strong technical quality I wish I could gain. And Kort, it is never late to thank you again for your warm comments re my gallery being chosen as GOM. Your big part is there too. Nikolay

I love the "cut of the clouds" in this. The colors are strong but the whole composition with your postwork produced a magnificent shot.

What a great tribute, I also saw them on the Division Bell tour one of the best concerts I ever saw. I have 9 of their cd's and I listen to them all the time, can never get to much of Floyd.
