Description

Being as this Friday is International "Talk Like a Pirate" Day....and this image has been gnawing at me to be created for a while. I give you one of my very own pirate characters...and a woman not to be messed with. My primary character from a role play group called Dark Tides, and a long standing persona of one of my stories. ~~~~ 'Tis not for naught that she is called "The Devil's Mistress" She is the Lady Giselle D'Marque. Daughter of a prominent merchant in Calais, France, she was responsible for her own Father's murder to escape the arranged marriage for her with an upstanding (and annoyingly arrogant) Naval officer of Royale, Nathaniel Cormier. Stealing her Father's flagship and making for the island known to be a pirate stronghold, an island, collectively called by seafarers as "The Haven". A former colony used by the Royale Navy for prisoners...who ended up taking over! She had the ship refit to be more fitting to a life of piracy than merchant trade and dubbed her new flagship "Diablo." In due course the "Devil's Ship" earned herself a reputation of her own, and the silver haired, and sapphire eyed vixen at her helm was, certainly, no exception. Building a fleet around the Diablo's standard, the Devil's Fleet became the most feared and respected band of pirates and high priced cutthroats that sailed the High Seas. When in a conflict with a Naval ship called the West Wind, the Diablo suffered heavy damage and claimed more than her share of casualties, including her own mistress's eye. But being cyclopic hasn't put a damper on the bloodthirsty cause of the Fleet. ...or the fear that the Devil's Standard, or Captain D'Marque, continues to inspire. ~~~~ Rendered in DAZ Studio ~~~~ Victoria 4.2 Kate texture by Liquid Rust Amaraseda Hair by AprilYSH Jewels 2 eye textures by Valea Empire Class costume by Will Dupr© Eye Patch from Caribbean Queen by Pretty 3D Duelist Rapiers by ElorOnceDark Medusa ship by Faveral San Simeon Seascape by Twilight Productions Lights and pose by me Character and her history are mine too ;-) (and yes, her story DOES actually PREDATE the PotC movies....she's mine from....*gasp* Junior High! Trust me, that was a long time ago!) ~~~~ And the word for the day be Arrrgggggggggggg!!!!
