Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

When I sprout wings on my back I'll take up flying. That snow looks a bit deep Marilyn, I thought you said Sunny California. Lol. I'm not suprised its a bit noisy, your sat on the engine, well nearly. Excellent capture, enjoy your stay in Sunny Southern Califonia. Bravo!!!!!

Excellent..

That 30 seat limit was something the CAB based subsidies for the DC-3 on. For decades no one could come up with an economic case for a new plane. My flights from DC to Philadelphia in the late 60's were on a Nord 262 that fits your description perfectly. They served Rolling Rock beer and I later found it on Singer Island when I lived there.

I'm 58 years old and have never flown...been too afraid too...but that little contraption might be just what I need to get over my fear of flying...Thank you for sharing and I'm waiting on the beach pics...LOL

Beautiful shot!

Nothing like the marvel of flight! Like the shot seeing the clouds catch the suns light. That is a special sight the first time you see it.

Splendid contrasting and dynamics in this fine capture, Marilyn! And an aircraft with a 30-seat capacity isn't exactly a tiny little airplane. I've been on a lot smaller.

love the fluffy clouds warm hug, Linda

I hate flying; the big planes are scary enough (thank heaven for the miracle of pharmaceuticals -- I've slept my way to more places than I can count!) but there's no way I'd get on one of those little ones. I'll be really happy when they replace the oxygen cannisters with nitrous oxide....

Your weather is like ours. "The bluest skies you've ever seen are in Seattle ..." yeah ... at thirty-thousand feet! LOL!

Wow! You fly a lot. Back and over the clouds. Superb shot. Aloha

wonderful to see a plane with props never rode in one

I have flown in this type from SFO to RDD. Yup on your description of the fight. Like the Fokker-Fairchild F-27 or Lockheed L-188 both which I have flown in. Check out my site for planes trains and automobiles.

what puddles!

Yes, those puddle jumpers are an experience in themselves. Had to board one at Miami a few years ago in order to get to Key West. Then, they fly directly over the Everglades...jeez!!! Can't land the big jets at KW ...they'll run off the runway and into the Atlantic...lol
mermaid
lol they are nice those little one...I like them and like to fly with them, cause you can feel the flight more than in the big ones...
