Description

Well, this piece of superior draftsmanship was my very first cartoon. As you'll notice, the production values are staggering, and the figure-drawing, to die for. These people come out of me and don't introduce themselves, so all I can tell you is it's some 19th C. Russian guy, and a dog with some major issues...The media was top-of-the-line too: felt pen on the back of an ad. I didn't fix it in PS: The way I saw it, it was too delicate to hurt it with some fly-by-night software... I call it: "Mikhailovich and Me". I'm not sure which is which, but if you have an idea, lemme know... Thanks for your previous comments & favs, all are greatly appreciated! Have a wonderful Sunday! Dosfadonya! Mark(ovitch)

Well, perfection and refinement, the two wicked products of the wicked mind, may kill any real art basing on true emotions, i.e. soul. Guess wisdom is to preserve most of your works as landmarks to look back at where you came from and where you are going. Should we trust the mind? Probably yes, when it is time to calculate.... Thank you for your masterclass and making my mind boil. Nikolay

Well Mark I for one am so thrilled to see your first cartoon and really like it a lot. I love the little Russian dancer guy as he peers back at his faithful dog sidekick who is either trying to mimic him or maybe just doing a better job dancing. Love the dog most of all as you have him with his own little hat just like the Russian.

LOL - yes, impressive materials, but who cares; a cutie - and it's all in the eyes [both sets of course]. BTW love the comments by Nikolais - right on the mark.

Great to see where it all began with you and I'm sure this one takes you back. Two great looking characters who are full of fun. Looks like they are really enjoying themselves whilst performing that funny dance. Simple sketches are sometimes very effective, just as this one is. Amazing how a few lines drawn on a page can invoke so much imagination in us all. Tony.

I like this one Mark as it brought a smile to my face. There is a humorous side to this one and I can image the music playing as they dance their funny dance together and trying to keep in step. I enjoyed reading your funny comments as well. Isn't art fun at times. Hugz and kisses. Toni.

I've seen that dance. It's hard to do, but that dog seems to be perfroming it with ease. Very clever with those large extended legs. I love their facial expressions. Your first cartoon? Well done! There's a wonderful James Thurber quality to these. (I'm exploring all your cartoons tonight). I hope you will continue working in this genre. Combined with your writing they are a lot of fun.
