Description

I met up with Alan on Friday and we went for a walk down to a local park in Heywood. We took some flower shots and some geese on the park lake, but there was nothing exciting there. Today Sunday, I went to our local park just about 5oo yards from where I live but part of it was closed off for resurfing the road. Emma my daighter was with me and it was her idea that we went to take some pics of the Canadian Geese that are always there. I couldn't park anywhere so I went to the Heywood park because there were some Canadian Geese there when I went with Alan. This time though I walked a bit further round the lake and came across a pair of mating Dragonflies. They were airborne though and I could not get a shot off they were that fast. Eventually they ceased their play and one of them landed quite close to me. This is the result, I took quite a few shots, and this one isn't perfect. I did get a better one but it doesn't show its body so this one had to do for now. No postwork apart from re-sizing for uploading. Thanks for stopping by for a look and for any comments you care to make. We are having our Summer at the momment, two decent days so far, although it is overcast by this time of day, 17:30.

An amazing capture here Jeff! I love the amber color of the body and the wings as well. Plus there is so much other tiny stuff in the photo. There is incredible beauty in the natural world, so much that we overlook! Thanks for sharing this, and this is a super first dragonfly capture. These little guys are so fast! Lea
