Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Are you back home now? I can't keep up with you girl, always globe trotting like you are. #;0) You sure get some great photo ops up in the clouds, another great if somewhat blue capture. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

I miss flying. I wish I had taken the three weeks in the air with Top Gun. Supersonic, diving at the earth, looping back from a rush. But I would not have had my hnad on the stick. And I would not have sent the weapon arcing to it's target. I already knew about the SAM. That fight will be with me to the end. In 1998, On the 777 headed for San Francisco I drew a sketch of the interior. There were displays in the ceiling that showed movies. What if I could have put my movie up there of a MIG and a Phantom. I have other thoughts about how the air that is in the airconditioning ducts still has all the energy of it's compression in the turbulence that blows from the eyeballs at the seats. Walter Mitty can feel the soft puff of Mach .82.

Tallpindo evoking nostalgic memories of aerial combat over Vietnam. Lovely dark mist-like image caught while flying over liberal San Francisco, Marilyn! I like the long wake of the boat making it's way under the bridge.

I'm listening to a rather eerie piano sonata, composed for...a science fiction television show, of all things, and the music goes along perfectly with this image! I love the rich, blue saturation in this image, it brings out so many interesting details in this image, turning a familiar city into something both alien and inviting. There's so much to see, and the color treatment allows the image to actually glide through a number of emotional states. Brilliant work! Definitely a favorite.
