Description

this bank was only robbed one time by a teller.A Mr. Furley disappeared with $40,000 and was never caught or no money was recovered DESCRIPTION: THE TISHOMINGO CITY HALL, ORIGINALLY BUILT TO BE THE BANK OF THE CHICKASAW NATION, IS AN OUTSTANDING EXAMPLE OF A RICHARDSONIAN ROMANESQUE STYLE BANK. BUILT AROUND THE CANTED CORNER ENTRANCE, THE TWO-STORY BUILDING IS CLAD IN RUSTICATED GRANITE AND HAS AN ELABORATE BELL TOWER. THE BANK WAS IN OPERATION UNTIL STATEHOOD IN 1907. IN 1911, THE BUILDING WAS PURCHASED BY THE CITY OF TISHOMINGO AND THE TISHOMINGO MASONIC LODGE. IT HAS SINCE BECOME HOME TO THE JOHNSTON COUNTY HISTORICAL AND GENEALOGICAL SOCIETYS MUSEUM. LISTED IN THE NATIONAL REGISTER, 5/21/1975. TISHOMINGO, OKLAHOMA thanks for viewing and any comments I removed two street signs and posted worked the street to appear to more of the time period. I did not want to use sepia so the granite's color could be appreciated

This kind of sky and building is spookey to me. It makes me feel abandonned in a hostile land.
