people call members of families black sheep,well this family has one lame baby duck. I think the mother is a mix of different ducks and no telling what the father is.seems odd that six is one color and one is golden. the gold one seems to be lagging behind it's siblings each time I see them
Steve "pops" is ill and needs our collective thoughts.hoping he has a speedy recovery

Well - thats a cool obeservation and a great shot ...the fact that the "lame" is differnet colour isn't that odd - Mendel (not mengel - mendel was a monk - the other a devil) made a lot of experiments with breeding plants ...i guess if he had know one of the parents parents he would have guessed the outcome :-)

an extraordinarily nice photo with the duck family. At my small pond wild ducks bred, of it were 6 darkly and 7 had bright plumage! Like that is nature!

Tug the heart strings. Probably the mother duck is a Muscovy. The colors of the six are consistent with Muscovy ducklings. About the seventh, we will hope he is as talented duck-wise as golden-boy Paul Hornung. Nice capture of the "fleet."
