Wonderful weather, 1 million visitors and shouters, playing steel bands, cheerleaders..... and the Number One Runner of the world,
HAILE GEBR SELASSIE from Ethiopia,
who finished his sensational run on the world most quickly Marathon course in unbelievable 2:03:59 hours. Haile Gebr Selassie, the World Master, topped his own record run of 2007 once again here.
This pic was taken 2 hours ago directly at my street corner. Haile Gebr Selassie is the small man in the yellow trikot.

Excellent capture Wolfgang, and you didn't have to travel miles to get it, nice to see the people in your area come out to cheer the runners on. It is good for the runners to get this encouragement Selassie looks to be boxed in a bit here, just biding his time, conserving his energy for the final mile.. The contestants hear the crowds urging them on but they are that focused elswhere they do not see them, their expressions are pure consentration. A wonderful photo for your archives Wofgang, the World Champion on his way to a new World Record. A shot any photographer would be proud of. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!
