Description
Just a quick set of two renders in Carrara to show how well the UV mapping on my freebie space shuttle works. Yeah, the bottom is arsed right now and I still need to do the top. The sides look good because I cheated a little and used actual NASA pictures as a texture source. I think my maps are halfway decent, because it wasn't terribly hard to fit the side views over them. Just have to find similar quality top and bottom views photos as sources and that should be set. (Shouldn't be too long, just taking a little break.) If my texturing looks good enough, the freebie will get an update to include those as well.

It always looks a bit burnt now. Glass on foamed quartz is a tough texture. I followed every tile description on the first flight from installation to final inspection at return. It's hard to accept that all this work went just into the history books.
