Description

Fishermen's Wharf in Monterey, California. One of my favorite places. Brings back memories of John Steinbeck's books and doc and his cronies. I had planned to stay at the Monterey Naval Postgraduate School, located on the grounds of the old Dole Hotel grounds of pineapple fame, but as a retire I cannot make reservations, but only am eligible for first come type of available accomodations. Everything was taken. I had planned to stay seversl days but moved on after only one night but had some good sea food. Thank you for viewing and commenting on my recent uploads.

I was at the bar here one day in 1975 looking out over the bay at a Liquified Natural Gas tanker that was huge on the horizon. The guy sitting next to me at the bar said, "my company built that one," and handed me a card from Global Marine.

Love the little fisherman at the end of the dock Sig, he stands out in his Sou'wester, has a look of the chap on a packet of Fishermans friend cough sweets. I used to love visiting the fish docks in Grimsby in their hey day, I used to come home with a parcel of fish. Nearly enough to fill the freezer and it didn't cost the earth as it does now. Excellent capture, looks like a great place to stop for some fresh sea food. Bravo!!!!!
