Description

Breakfast is served. Well, not exactly served; more like a self-serve breakfast buffet. These tenacious little birds stand at gulf's edge each morning watching and waiting for that right wave that'll wash up a small fish or a sand crab or two. Then with lightening speed they dash out in the water to scoop up their prize, returning once again to the water's edge for more watching and waiting. This was taken last Sunday morning about an hour after sunrise. And I must agree with the birds - there's nothing quite like fresh gulf coast seafood! And that's about as fresh as it gets! This is the 4th pic from last weekend's trip to Santa Rosa Island on the Northwest Florida Gulf Coast. My previous post, "What Have They Done to my Island?" can be seen right here. marshall
