Description

For my friend Igolochka. I still remember the first time she favourited me, I was thrilled and she continues to inspire me with her great works of female beauty. So for you my friend, I give you this connection with the Goddess who protects women. This will be the first in a series devoted to portraits of the Goddess. Diana Roman nature Goddess, a goddess of light, mountains and woodlands. Derived from the Greek Goddess Artemis. These two Goddesses were the original mother earths of western civilization. Protectress of youth, especially young women. Unmarried, virginal in the sense of being her own woman, subject to no male and not celibate. Given these traits it is not surprising that Diana was despised by the Christian theocracy with its masculine centric world vision. Intensely popular in Roman Britain where in the Celtic tongues her name means 'divine, brilliant'. In the autumn, Diana was invoked to protect the harvest against storms. According to Celtic legend it was Diana who directed the Trojan Prince Brutus to come to Britain after the fall of Troy and this was the start of the royal lines of Britain. Under Christianity she became the goddess of witches and after the 10th century Canon Episcope followers of Diana were intensely persecuted throughout Europe. Following a well-established Christian tradition of building churches over top of pagan sacred sites, St. Paul's cathedral in London, England was built over a Roman temple dedicated to Diana. Diana's gem was crystal, which she is here provided with. What future for the world do you see in her ball? V3 Starlet hair by Lizbeth at DAZ

Ah, my favorite goddess of all time. Beautiful! As usual, your posing, lighting and expression are so well done. All your female characters are so strong and full of life. And thank you for putting it all in context for those who may not already know about these treasures of the past. It gives the image added meaning and power.
