To all of my mother's Renderosity friends:
It saddens me to no end to tell you that my mother, Mina, passed on May 31st, from endometrial cancer. She is survived by my father, Roger, and myself. I apologize for not letting you all know sooner, but her passing has left me with a broken heart and it is very hard to write this, even now. I don't suppose there will ever come a time that it will be easier.
I know how much she loved you all, how much it meant to her to have met such wonderful people, and how much it meant to her to create & share her art with you. I am leaving her work here for a while, as tribute to her, her beauty, her talent & her love.

electrifying fear, I'd say. Your screen (or mesh) is really effective Mina, but, with you, it always seems intuitive; you're that attuned to inner states that you simply feel what conveys your emotion and put it into your piece. This face looks at us—in fact the whole piece looks at us—through a screen tinged with yellows and passion-reds, almost painful & burning reds, which agitates & electrifies everything. There's play there (what image of yours doesn't have that), and you've outlined many of your forms with electric-current blue, like everything is in a heightened state (and there's play in that too, even glee at playing this way), and the eyes pretty much establish that for good. Overexposed & fun, creepy & vibrant, it's kind of a shot for a horror film but with the subtlety and complexity that infiltrates all your images. And it's a lot of fun to be zapped by it too.
