Description

Last month I went to the nursery to see what I could find to shoot when the flowers weren't in bloom. It seemed like a good exercise in seeing, and it was ... I had a great time. I took fewer pictures than I normally do, but came out of there with loads of good stuff anyway, so I consider my foray to have been a great success! These graceful grass stems caught my eye. I love things like this. It is fun to take walks in the country, and see such things in the fields nearby. Did that as a kid. It brings back memories.

Growing up on a farm; agreed that flowers are highly over-rated! Everything which grows is pretty neat.

Incredibly nice detail and subtle color...perfectly captured. Funny, but there is an emotional vibe to this image and I find that quite appealing.

Graceful lines. The softness in the composition supports the grace of the curves. Stunning shot.

This is so beautiful: I often think I prefer the subtlety of grasses to flowers....and then next minute I'm in love with some huge vulgar bloom! Oh well, a woman's prerogative etc!

There are some pretty good looking weeds out there as well Tara, I used to leave the weeds and pull the plants when the wife asked me to help in the garden. I couldn't tell the difference, and it got me out of weeding as well, wink wink #;0). I still take pictures of the weeds. Now grass on its own is just greenery and pretty dull, but these long grasses are a totally different thing. As a kid helping out on the local farm, I used to love walking through the fields before haymaking, pulling a long seed stem and chewing on it. Never gave a second thought when sucking clover, that the cows were in the same field, doing what cows do in a field. Lol. This has to be an ornimental grass and different again from the above, one of my neighbours has something similar growing in her garden, but it seems to have gone wild on her. You have captured this one perfectly though, and turned it into a work of art, an engineer couldn't form a more perfect arc. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!
