Description
Strange title, yes, but perhaps the most appropriate.
This was taken shortly after sunrise, as you can note by the low angle of the shadows. This macro shot is of some extremely small shells, as you can see by the size of the grains of sand. These are not the size of shells that anyone would ever consider retrieving to take back home.
So they just walk on by, while enjoying the sensuous crunchy feel of the sand underneath their bare feet (the ONLY way to walk on Gulf Coast beaches!).
But this is where the crunchy sand feeling comes from - bits of broken shells mixed in with an abundance of beautifully crafted complete, although tiny shells that escapes the vision of most. But not you because you are one of the few who actually paused just a moment and read this far!
This was taken on Pensacola Beach a week ago about 20 minutes after sunrise. 5th in a consecutive series on this subject. The 4th post, called The Ever-Changing Shoreline can be found by clicking that yellow title.
I sincerely appreciate those of you who can relate to my bizarre ramblings on things such as tiny, usually unnoticed forgotten sea shells!

I was going to comment on the sand but it makes sense it's so white after reading your comment. Excellent macro work.
