Description

Came across this whilst out and about and couldn't resist taking a few shots, my second shot at HDR. The sky was cloned in because the original was just an overcast grey. The cottages are right on the border of the moors above Rochdale, fifty yards from here you are standing on open moorland. A bit of an eyesore, yet there is money to be had by recycling the materials, they have been like this for quite a nuber of years. Thanks for stopping by for a look and for any comments you care to make, all are welcome and appreciated. Please zoom for full effect, this is a large file. One man's eyesore is another man's beauty...I think it's beautiful, at least as you've captured it here!

A beautiful and yet sad photo. I always hate to see abandoned things. What memories do those cottages hold, of loves, lives and maybe even deaths of folks long gone who were sheltered by their now crumbling walls.. A very poignant image for me! A favourite!

Wonderful! I think it like it in color best. It shows the moss on the roof and the richness of the colors of the bricks. Great shot!

Wonderful! I cans see there is worth in those bricks. They are really lovely and seem to have withstood age and weather very well. Something to be said for these types of buildings popping up in tall fields of grass and brush... Great shot.

I don't recognise these Jeff but when I'm out on a hike I see many run down cottages in ruin. They certainly make a great subject to photograph, I don't know what it is but there is some attraction to the old texture of brick and broken timber! The HDR treatment brings out colour contrast and highlights the textures. and you done a nice job with the sky. Bravo!
